A novel dynamic mesh simplification algorithm based on error control

Paper Abstract

A novel dynamic algorithm for mesh simplification is put forward in this paper. We use spheres to segment vertexes of the models, and control the radius of each spheres by a cluster error threshold, then cluster the vertexes in each sphere by a minimum error-based cluster algorithm. This enveloping sphere-based algorithm can increase the correlativity of clustering vertexes, and provides a solution to continuous LOD (Level of Details).
