Wide-angle and broadband nonpolarizing parallel plate beam splitter

Paper Abstract

When being used at oblique angels of incidence, the reflectance and transmittance of thin film exhibits strong polarization effect. For much application about beam splitter, this effect is undesired and should be reduced. Up till to now, most theoretical results published on non-polarizing beam splitter are valid for a very limit wavelength or angular range. Here, we present a beam splitter with low polarization, operating at 450 to 650nm wavelength range and 40 to 50 degree incident angle range. The paper presents lossless periodic dielectric multilayer in characteristic of low polarization in the working range of wavelength and incident angle range. The configuration can be made with current deposition technology.
