Paper Abstract

Wavelet image compression provides high compression ratios without producing noticeable visible artifacts. However, wavelet image compression can be expensive in terms of memory usage and computational complexity. This paper describes a low-cost algorithm suitable for implementation in Field-Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs).
