Paper Abstract

The paper presents different pumping ways of double-clad lasers and a new method using polished, asymmetrical couplers. Asymmetric polished side couplers attain high efficiency of pumping power transmission to the inner cladding of the double-clad fibre. Such a type of pumping allows the laser operating in multiwavelength signal to be designed.
