Paper Abstract

The paper concerns possible usage of graphics processing units (GPU) for general real-time data processing. It presents main differences between classic CPU architectures and so called stream architectures realized by modern GPUs. All the considerations revolve around effective processing of large data sets such as multidimensional signals. The paper is accompanied by an application which uses GPU to process 2D image data with a user defined convolution filter.
