Paper Abstract

We show experimental results of the optical analysis carried out to conductive polymers of polyaniline generate by chemical bath method. These polymers shows changes in their optical and physical properties when they are exposed to low concentrations of aqueous ammonia. We analyze the spectral changes that presents these polymers as a function of the wavelength in the interval at [350 nm - 1100 nm], in order to determine the spectral bands with more sensitivity to ammonia. We evaluate the feasibility to employ these conductive polymers as optical sensors for remote monitoring of ammonia.
