Paper Abstract

THz radiation is believed to become one of the promising research areas of ongoing century. However, novel THz optical components still need to be developed. This paper presents metallic photonic crystal for THz radiation in the range of 10 – 50 THz. The photonic crystal consists of polymer rods covered with a thin metallic film. The paper presents band gap and transmission calculations as well as the results of fabrication and experimental approach to prove the predicted optical properties.
