Paper Abstract

The processes of light-induced thermal field modulation of the optical parameters in the media for photothermic recording are surveyed. The applicability of the technique for the recording of holograms is considered. Attention is also paid to the processes involved in the bit-by-bit photothermic and magnetophotothermic recording.
