A novel hybrid WDM/TDM optical passive network architecture

Paper Abstract

WDM access network consists of a feeder network and a distribution network, and it becomes more favorable as the required bandwidth increases. In this paper we present a new efficient scheduling algorithm for bandwidth sharing in WDM distribution networks. This algorithm supports variable-length packet scheduling and QoS guarantee in a differentiated services framework. Through theoretical analysis and simulation, the end-to-end delay bound and throughput fairness of the algorithm is demonstrated.
