Paper Abstract

The problem of the lifetime r of the "hot" degrees of freedom in the macromolecule is of great importance both for the energy redistribution in the molecule after excitation by the laser pulse and for the enzymes excitation during catalytic process. The value of r depends on the nature of nonlinear interactions in the molecule, the relationship between the eigen frequencies of definite vibrations and the degree of "isolation" of the "hot" degree of freedom from the surrounding molecules. We present here the results of the study of these mechanisms with the help of simple models. It is possible to divide the protein molecule into the rigid domains (clusters) for the study of the oscillation in a frequency range of 1011 - 1013 Hz.1'2
