Paper Abstract

A simple laser beam self-alignment system has been constructed as part of an optical reference frame for a large coordinate measuring machine. The system uses beam position signals from a quadrant photodetector to drive flexure-strip beam adjustment modules, and is controlled by dedicated electronics which incorporates a programmable digital signal processor.
