Digital watermarking of JPEG images by a holographic technique

Paper Abstract

A holographic technique is applied for digital watermarking by a computer. In the study, the digital watermark is hidden in JPEG images in a form of diffuse-type holograms by applying the concept of optical holography. The conditions required for the reconstruction of the digital watermark from such images are investigated experimentally in comparison with those of bitmap images. The quality of reconstructed images is evaluated by the peak values of cross-correlation between the reconstructed watermark image and the original one.
