Dynamic call admission control for multiservices in a MC-CDMA cellular system

Paper Abstract

In this paper, we propose a dynamic call admission control (CAC) scheme for the downlink multi-code code division multiple access (MC-CDMA) system, which supports multi-class services with diverse QoS requirements. The salient features of the proposed scheme are: 1) long-term transmission quality for different class of services are guaranteed by ensuring a upper bound outage probability; 2) several key statistical factors including Log-normal shadowing in propagation and voice activity factors are incorporated, and results indicate that they have significant impact on the connection-level performance; 3) Priority support for handoff calls is provided using dynamic bandwidth reservation. Detailed performance analysis is provided and the numerical results demonstrate that the proposed scheme adapts well to a variety of system configurations
