Experimental investigation on turbulent flow of electro-spray by PIV

Paper Abstract

The laser diagnostic and visualization technology provides proper methods to understand the turbulence flow and the interaction between flow field and electricity field. In this paper, PIV is used to make instantaneous velocity measurements over a 120mm by 150mm area in the spray and detailed properties of electrospray are obtained. Small size particles are dispersed in spray space in advance and the vortices on the edge of spray are apparent in the measurement results. The comparison of velocity, turbulence momentum and vorticity between charge spray and conventional spray is presented.
