Paper Abstract

Linear and nonlinear creep by an optical polarization technique, functional similarity applied, is considered. Two trends of modelling - direct modelling based on special selection of optically sensitive materials with required viscoelastic and optical polarization properties, for models and an elastic analogy technique, when the solution of a creep volumetric problem is connected with solutions of auxiliary problems, are discussed. Dependencies for stresses and strains definition in a model by measured interference fringe-orders, similarity conditions, and stress-strain recalculation formulae for a full-scale structure are presented.

As an illustration the samples of linear and nonlinear creep problem solution are also presented.
