GaAs and CdSSe electron-beam-pumped semiconductor laser arrays with optically coupled elements

Paper Abstract

Parameters of CdSSe and GaAs electron-beam-pumped laser arrays with optically coupled elements were studied. A transversal geometry of pumping was applied. A special configuration of active element provided the optical coupling of array cells. Pulsed electron gun of 300 keV energy and 1 ns electron beam pulse duration was used. An abrupt rising of output laser power and decrease in the threshold current density were obtained with the increase in the number of coupled elements. The parameters of laser array were computed. The correspondence of theoretical and experimental results was observed.
