Dynamic oil droplets changes observed from phase singularities in a Fizeau confocal interference microscope

Paper Abstract

Previous data indicated that optical wavefronts may contain dislocations of the periodic structure in which the surface of constant phase has a helicoidal form. Recently, research works have been published showing methods to generate wavefronts with isolated screw dislocation. In this work we introduce the Fizeau confocal laser scanning interference microscopy method to analyze the topography temporal evolution of transparent oil droplets by mean of phase singularities arisen because of the applied method.
