Paper Abstract

A periodic check of the rotary equipment axis is needed for maintaining high plant availability, so it is necessary to accuracy measure outer diameter of support rotators of rotary equipment in operation. At present the out diameter is measured by mechanical counting and counting with time division of friction-roller in China, the former is less accurate and latter needs the rotator rotating neither pause nor reversion, the error of measurement of diameter is +/- 2 mm if rotary speed is variable substantially. This article is concerned with a measurement instrument of the diameter, in which a friction-roller with encoder is sensor of circumference. It is a patent in China. The accuracy of diameter of measurement is less than +/- 1 mm.
