Paper Abstract

A diode side-pumped Q-switched Nd:YAG double-slab oscillator designed for high-power solid-state has been demonstrated. The laser was based on a stable resonators with a super-Gaussian mirror as the output coupler. The laser produced single pulse energy of 18.23-mJ with 10-ns pulse width at a 100-Hz repetition rate and beam quality factor of M2 less than or equal to 1.4 was achieved. Optical-optical efficiency of the Q-switched laser was 15.2%.
