Real-time scheduling in a stochastic environment

Paper Abstract

A distributed computing system with time-critical applications is studied in this paper. The stochastic model was suggested to estimate the level of QoS even in the presence of faults. This paper examines the behavior of schedules in stochastic environment characterized by random processor failures that may delay execution of tasks and cause the actual situation to deviate from a specified schedule. The author intend to understand the behavior of schedules under uncertainty and to formulate scheduling problem into a convex program.
