Paper Abstract

All solid-state laser technology has produced high efficiency, ow cost, stable and portable devices. The effort done in Argentina to acquire know-how in this field is reviewed in this article. Three diode-pumped Neodymium lasers prototypes were constructed, a continuous-wave laser, an active q-switched laser and an active mode-locked laser. All the prototypes use the same pumping diode and collimating-focusing optics. The result was a simple laser kit with an easy access to all the laser and pumping optics, representing a good compromise between performance and cost.
