Paper Abstract

Second harmonic imaging was used to evaluate the subsurface layer structure of hamster cheek pouch mucosal tissues using femtosecond laser technology. Two dimensional images of hamster cheek pouch mucosa were obtained by scanning the second harmonic signal at various lateral and axial positions. The spatial mapping of the second harmonic signals showed depth differentiation between different tissue layers.
