Comparison between cw and pulsed laser calorimetric measurement at 1.06 μm

Paper Abstract

The ISO 11 551 standard for laser calorimetric measurement does not define the temporal regime of the laser irradiation. Comparative experiments were carried out using a cw and pulsed laser beam at 1.06 micrometers wavelength. The pulsed laser parameters are 10 Hz pulse repetition rate and 12 ns pulse length. Nearly the same average power, irradiation time and beam spot size are chosen to ensure the comparability of cw and pulsed irradiation procedure. In this paper the measured temperature curves and calculated absorbencies for different samples are presented.
