Paper Abstract

The paper presents the main directions of investigations as well as possibilities of new materials applications for solid state laser systems with coherent pumping. The fundamental physico-structural properties of active mediums, materials for frequency conversion systems and non-linear absorbers for passive Q-switching resonator are discussed. The literature data are compared with the results of investigations carried on in the Institute of Optoelectronics MUT in the field of materials engineering, spectroscopy, structural analysis and lasing characteristics of different, coherent pumped laser systems.
