Paper Abstract

A high density grating wavelength division multiplexer whose working wavelength is 1.536 - 1.564 micrometers for eight channels spaced 4 nm using binary optical microlenses is reported. The optimal binary optical microlenses is designed and its diffraction far field is analyzed using phase balance design method and the accumulating integral method. The coupling efficiency and the fundamental mode proportion in the receiving fiber are calculated.
