Paper Abstract

An all-fiber filter based on quasi 2D photonic lattice has been proposed, which can be directly written in a multimode or single-mode fiber by the fabricating techniques of fiber gratings. Concurrently, an explicit method for analyzing the 2D photonic lattice is given. Numerical results show that this reflecting filter exhibits different properties from 1D photonic lattice (namely, fiber Bragg grating) with the same modulated strength of diffractive index. The possible applications of the all-fiber filter based on quasi 2D photonic lattice are also discussed.
