Paper Abstract

The fully exploiting modification direction (FEMD) steganographic scheme has better visual quality compared with the exploiting modification direction (EMD) scheme, but it's not optimal. The FEMD scheme can hide several secret bits into a cover pixel pair and achieve various hiding capacities, and the embedding rate could be inferred by illegal user according to the image quality. In order to get better visual quality and improve the security of the hidden information, a novel steganographic scheme that the weight coefficients could be adjusted according to the specific rules is proposed. In the proposed algorithm, the weight coefficients (cof1, cof2) of the extraction function can be changed and passed to the receiver as a key through a secure channel. With the adjusted weight coefficients, different image visual quality can be obtained although they have the same embedding capacity. In addition, the best image visual quality of the proposed algorithm is better than Kieu's. The experimental results show that the proposed method is securer, and the image visual quality is better compared with Kieu's.
