Paper Abstract

This paper describes a visualization tool which is a component of the NYNEX Network Exploratorium, a decision support platform for telephone interoffice network planning. The visualization tool provides a number of visualization styles suited to knowledge discovery in the network planning domain, and is designed for expansion to support additional styles. Visualizations are specific using a declarative language, which binds visual attributes directly to arbitrary attributes of objects in an object-oriented database. An overview of the language and some application examples are presented.
