Paper Abstract

In this paper is presented the simple analytical formula for calculating the coupling coefficient on an ideally matched optical fiber joint between modes with arbitrary radial and azimuthal orders. The solution is obtained by a known method of Gauss approximation. As an example, the present work shows the calculations results of dependencies of mode coupling coefficients from ratio of radii of mode spot for some low order modes.
