Paper Abstract

A novel method is presented for precision measurement based on active heterodyne interferometry. Using two laser diodes as light sources, a small displacement of a target is determined from beat frequency shift between the two lasers one of which changes its frequency according to properties under optical feedback from the target. Theoritical model and experimental result are also described.
