Paper Abstract

Trace of CO2 gas of 1% was detected utilizing absorption spectroscopy with an incoherent broad band light source. The light source was the amplified spontaneous emission of the 5I75I8 transition from a Tm+3/Ho+3 co-doped silica fiber pumped near 800nm. Vibrational bands of CO2 in the range of 1.9-2.1 μm was detected in an absorption cell of 1.1 m path length.
