Paper Abstract

Recent development in Kerr-lens mode-locked Ti:sapphire laser had generated extremely short pulses with FWHM bandwidth of 170nm[1]. Due to large group velocity dispersion in such ultrabroad-bandwidth laser cavities, a pair of Brewster angle prisms are commonly used for dispersion compensation[2]. In order to minimize the reflection loss, the prisms are carefully cut to satisfy the minimum deviation condition while the laser beam is incident on both surfaces of either prism at Bewster-angle.
