Paper Abstract

Anisotropic diffraction is characterized by the properties that an ex- traordinary polarized beam diffracts into an ordinary polarized beam under the proper phase-matching conditions and vice versa. The properties of anisotropic diffraction in electro-optic crystals had been studied extensively.[1] In this paper, a conical diffraction ring caused by the anisotropic self-diffraction in a BaTiO3 crystal has been investigated. In the simplest case, we consider incident beams whose wave vectors lie in the plane perpendicular to the c axis.
