Application of vitreous chalcogenides in diffractive optics

Paper Abstract

New imaging devices are employed, for increasing our knowledge of nature and for setting high technologies, in other ranges of the electromagnetic spectrum than in the visible range. Here, we present three nonconventional setups for implementing polarization sensitive interferometers. Our first interferometric device, implements holographically a tunable version of Young's experiment, with variable lateral and longitudinal shear. The second interferometer is based on the Talbot effect, and the third optical setup is based on the Lau effect. The three setups are polarization sensitive devices, which can be applied to visualize birrefringent changes.
