Paper Abstract

We explore in this paper the possibility of utilising the lastest version of ORA's computer software program named CODE V for analysis of the optical performance of solar parabolic trough collectors Since the use of the image quality evaluation criteria like the point spread function or the modulation transfer, the spot diagram and / or encircled energy can play a useful role in the analysis of the solar flux distribution on a receiver wall. Some illustrative computational results presented in this paper are prespecifing a distribution of solar flux on the receiver wall for a parabolic trough profile having f/Number=0.6.
