Paper Abstract

The finite-difference method is used in the analysis of the dispersion characteristics of optical fibers containing uniaxial anisotropic dielectric, with the optical axis along the fiber axis and with a continuously varying refractive index in its cross section. Results for isotropic as well as anisotropic dielectric fibers, for four different refractive index profiles, are shown.
