Paper Abstract

Two diodes can be operated in a back-to-back configuration to generate a symmetrical capacitance- voltage curve. The symmetry of the capacitance-voltage curve eliminates even harmonics and thus favors tripling operation. No idler is needed in the circuit design making the circuit construction much simpler. In this paper, the low- and high-frequency device parameters of both single and back-to-back diode frequency triplers will be studied.
