Paper Abstract

This new type of very fast (F/0.95) camera can accommodate a 4k x 4k detector with a pupil size of 280 mm. The camera is fully achromatic and made of only 3 components: a mirror and 2 fused silica lenses. The 2 lenses (corrector and field flattener) are glued together. The camera offers better image quality than classical Schmidt or equivalent cameras and is much smaller and lighter. This camera was developed for the MOONS spectrograph. This type of camera can be used not only for spectroscopy but also for imaging, some applications are also described in this paper.
