Generalized methods for efficiently calculating Fraunhofer diffraction intensity fields resulting from diffraction through complex two-dimensional apertures, with complex aperture functions, have been recently developed by this author (Ref. 1) which are based on nine-node bi-quadratic isoparametric finite elements (Ref. 2) and on Fourier and Abbe transforms.
