Toward a characterization of image processing parallel computers

Paper Abstract

This paper proposes an approach to the A3 (adequation:algorithm-architecture) problem in the context of image (region growing algorithm) and parallel heterogeneous processings. The matching of the software graph extracted from an application and the graph extracted from the underlying parallel computer is guided by the cost function. Different parameters of the cost function are quantized by means of indices which characterize the hardware usage at the run time of the applications.
