Paper Abstract

Ray- and wave-optical techniques are used to evaluate the performance of an imaging holographic optical elements (HOE) at a shifted reconstruction wavelength. The HOE, which is a gratinglike structure with variable spatial frequency and variable grating-plane orientation, is stored as a volume-phase hologram in a dichromated gelatin layer. Spot diagrams and intensity-phase distribution plots of the imaging wave at various planes behind the HOE are presented.
