Single-shot wave front measurement of sub-ps laser pulses

Paper Abstract

We report on the use of a self referencing cyclic radial shear interferometer to obtain the single shot measurement of the phase front of a 150 fs titanium sapphire laser. Examples are also presented on the use of the device in conjunction with a probe laser to obtain nS resolution of the optical density of a z-pinch plasma, a high pressure pulsed gas jet, and sub- picosecond resolution of the evolution of plasma in 35 TW laser/solid interaction experiments where its ease of use makes it superior to other interferometric techniques.
