Paper Abstract

Distributed control of elastic continua using distributed piezoelectric actuators posts a problem when the environmental temperature also changes in time. In this paper, an open-loop distributed control of a circular ring subjected to combined mechanical and thermal excitations is studied. One electric charge is tuned to control the mechanical excitation, and the other to compensate the temperature induced oscillation. Control effectiveness is evaluated.
