Paper Abstract

In the context of ellipsometric measurements on cholesteric liquid crystals the nomenclature related to optical activity of isotropic phases is our focus. The importance of the stratified structure for the optical response is demonstrated with a linear analogue. Strong depolarization in the selective reflection band is experimentally proven.
