Paper Abstract

We present here various quantitative applications of vibrational spectroscopy to latex emulsion studies (developed for paper coatings, paints, etc.) in our industrial research laboratory. Determination of the copolymer compositions by FTIR multivariate calibration (transmission and ATR) and conversion study in emulsion polymerization by FT-Raman are described, showing the high potentiality of vibrational spectroscopy for fast and accurate quantitative studies of latex emulsions.
