Paper Abstract

Electro-optical modulation up to 4.5 dB and optical bistability at low optical input powers in distributed AlAs/GaAs Bragg reflectors are reported. A model based on the Franz-Keldysh- Effect, bandfilling and impact ionization is proposed.
