Paper Abstract

A magneto optic method of analysis of magnetization distribution in magnetic recording media which utilizes the modulation of width of straight domains in epitaxial garnet film was evaluated. Spatial modulation of domain walls in inhomogeneous applied magnetic field was analyzed theoretically and experimentally. Some experimental results concerning the magneto- optical readout, the thermo-remanent magnetic recording on chromium dioxide magnetic tape, are shown.
