Paper Abstract

We considered the biotissue boring (or cutting) by transparent probes conditioned by direct absorbing of mid-infrared radiation into tissues. A strong radiation absorption by tissue water presents the possibility to control coagulation depths on the cut's walls by choice pulse durations of radiation. Preliminary results have been obtained with mechanically modulated current-wave CO2 and CO-lasers. Experiments showed that combining the contact transparent probe technique and the pulsed strongly absorbed near-infrared radiations increases the cutting efficiency, the decrease of average power needed for transport through fibers, and the increased security of laser thermocontacted surgery.
