Paper Abstract

A generalized polychromatic point spread function applicable to optical imaging systems under broadband illumination is derived. The combined wavelength-dependent function, i.e., the product of the object radiance, medium transmittance, and detector response, is characterized by two parameters, the mean and standard deviation.
