Paper Abstract

A calibrated tungsten lamp was used to determine the quantum efficiency (QE) of an RCA CCD in the ultraviolet. A set of narrowband interference filters from 280 to 420 nm gave eight absolute QE points, and a double monochromator was used to measure the relative run of the QE in this range. The data show that the CCD is sensitive down to 280 nm; however, the value of the QE is less than 10% below 320 nm.
